Three beautiful ladies pose beside an exquisite carpet from Pakistan which is one of the pieces of outstanding Asian art composing the opening exhibit at Asia House.
The carpet was made in Lahore in the 17th Century, period of Jahangir, 1605-27, of woven hemp and wool, with color. Size 7’11 1/2″. From the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
The ladies are Mrs. Tullah Innes Hanley who was born in Egypt, lives in Pennsylvania, and is an author; Miss Jean Sawyer, American journalist, and Miss L. Bastien, head of the Indian Cultural Center in New York.
